East Java, Indonesia -
Hey there, fellow traveler!
I'm Agus, and I run AW Tour and Travel. My main thing is helping people discover the awesome spots in East Java, especially around my hometown of Malang. Think of me as your local friend here, ready to show you the real side of this part of Indonesia.
East Java is pretty special. It's got this cool mix – lively cities, massive volcanoes with incredible views, stunning waterfalls hidden in nature, and vibrant local life. It's got a different feel than places like Bali, maybe a bit more raw and adventurous, which I think is fantastic for someone looking for something genuine. Plus, the food here is seriously tasty!
What I do is make sure your trip here is super easy and packed with great experiences. I know all the local tricks, the best spots (and how to avoid the crowds sometimes!), and I can introduce you to the real culture. You won't get a cookie-cutter tour with me; everything is put together carefully to match what you want to see and do. I handle all the tricky bits – finding good places to stay, sorting out transport, and even getting you set up with local guides where needed – so you can just focus on having a good time.
A Popular East Java Adventure: The Bromo & Ijen Volcano Loop (Starting from Malang)
To give you an idea of the kind of adventures we usually put together, here's a popular 3-day trip that many visitors love. It packs in some of East Java's most iconic natural wonders, often starting right from Malang:
- Day 1: Arrival in Malang & Local Vibes You'd arrive in Malang, and I'd be there to pick you up. Depending on your arrival time, we might take it easy and explore some of Malang's unique spots. This city has a relaxed feel, with some really cool colorful villages (like Jodipan) that are great for photos, maybe a local market to grab some snacks, or just enjoying the chill atmosphere. We'll get you settled into your hotel, ready for the adventure ahead.
- Day 2: Mount Bromo Sunrise & Volcanic Beauty This is an early start, but totally worth it! We'll head out in the middle of the night to catch the sunrise over Mount Bromo. We drive up to a viewpoint where you get this incredible panoramic sight of Bromo, the surrounding caldera, and other volcanoes as the sun comes up. It's a real moment. After that, we'll drive closer to Bromo, then you'll trek (or ride a horse) across the "Sea of Sand" to the base of the volcano. A short climb up the steps brings you to the crater rim, where you can peek into the smoking caldera. It's quite something. Afterwards, we head to a guesthouse near Bromo for some rest.
- Day 3: Ijen Crater's Blue Fire & Farewell Another very early start, even earlier than Bromo! We'll drive towards Ijen, and then start a hike up to the crater. If conditions are right and you're up for it, you can see the famous "blue flames" flickering inside the crater before dawn – it's a natural phenomenon that's super unique. As the sun rises, you'll see the stunning turquoise acid lake in the crater. It's a really different kind of beauty compared to Bromo. We then head back down, and depending on your next plans, we can arrange transport to the nearest airport (like Surabaya or Banyuwangi) or back towards Malang.
This 3-day trip is a classic for a reason, showing you two of Indonesia's most famous volcanoes. But remember, this is just one idea! If you want to spend more time in Malang, explore waterfalls like Tumpak Sewu, or head to the south coast beaches, we can totally adjust it. My goal is for you to have a trip you'll truly enjoy and remember, made simple and personal by a local who knows the ropes.
So, if you're thinking about an adventure in East Java, just get in touch. Let's make it happen
